No Sale Choir Fundraiser

The survey early in the year indicated that parents preferred to do a no sale fundraiser in lieu of selling door to door. The suggestion has been for families to donate $10-20 as our fundraiser. At this point we have $383 in donations. There are many that have not sent a donation. I feel that at this time I need to clarify why the funds are needed in more detail.

We use these funds in that account to pay for fees to contest and Honor choirs, medals and transportation on field trips so that the students do not have to pay to go. The following is a list of the individual expenditures for students in choir. The school pays the fee to take the choir to contest and those are $65/contest. Last year those expenses totaled nearly $1000. 

Transportation to Maples Rep $80 ($2/student)—this has already been paid.

CMU Contest:

Solo $10 per solo

Small Ensemble $10 per ensemble

JH Honors Choir $3 each

6^th Grade Honors Choir $3 each

Medals for Ratings $2 each

For HS Students:

District and State Choir Auditions $10 each time

District and State Music Contest Solo $9 per solo

District and State Small Ensemble $9 per ensemble

Medals for Ratings $3each

If your child is a member of MS choir they will go to the theatre and Honors Choir ($5); if the choir gets a 1 or 2 rating at contest that adds $2 for a total of $7.

I want the kids to participate without concern for expense but currently we don’t have the funds to do that.

If we don’t have enough funds in our fundraiser account students will need to pay their fees for Contest and Honors Choir to participate this year.

The medals for ratings will only be ordered for those that pay for them this year.

Currently the amount of donations:

6^th Grade Choir is $55 from 5 students out of 14.

MS Choir is $75 from 5 students out of 33.

HS Choir is $253 from 8 students out of 21.

These dates are set and confirmed so that you may put them on your calendar. If a student is absent please call to inform the teacher.
